Just finished my first week at my new job. The work is ok, though I’m overqualified for the role they’ve started me off in. Coworkers are friendly. I’m only making $48,000 CAD a year. They talked up this course I could take after working for a year and I had assumed those people were earning in the $80,000 range but from their postings online it’s more like $60,000 tops and most of them have been at the company for more than 5 years. Several of my family members have professional licenses (lawyers, engineers, etc.) and I feel like I missed the last helicopter out of Saigon. If I didn’t live with my parents I don’t know what I’d do.

That's a brutal salary ngl but it's easier to work your way up the job market from the inside. Try and scope out the shape of your industry and look for niches and opportunities for advancement. I'm assuming you're a new grad? I think the main thing to do over the next two years is to try and get out of that bucket, gain the skills and knowledge to make yourself someone who looks like an industry professional rather than an industry prospect.

Update: I was denial about it being a call center but it 100% is. There are no back office roles that involve not being available on the phone.

Be a buddy to your boss/supervisor. They hate their job and life as well and want someone to help make the job bearable. Be cool and get to the "we can trash talk the job together" level.
Figure out any way to try and get paid more. Find out what it is. Is it more training? Experience? Being a suck up?

My first real job in my chosen field had me eating shit with low pay for a year, then they gave me a raise and a nicer title and whatnot. I guess you should ask yourself if that's something that's possible at your company. Also, does your title look good on a resume? If the answer to both questions is NO then you should gtfo. If either is YES then there may be some benefit to giving it a chance
