Sweden is a great example of the limiting of conversational potential of this paradigm. Spiritually speaking, Sweden has a few distinct energetic types. The remote stretches of mountain territory are definitely not sinister lands, they are quite cleansing and pure, but in the way an ice bath or bitter quinine tonic heals you, a little sting and a dispassionate send-off. The archipelago region hums of premodern energy, and Sami lands are obviously spiritually charged. It is unfortunate that so many pieces of media that depict Sweden to foreigners are negative, it's either horror schlock like Midsommar, Swedish crime mysteries, news about strife with immigration, heavy metal or le bad food internet cliches and hand-me-down /int/ memes, and many will never experience or seek anything positive about the place. I bet someone who has spent time in Sudan and its region like I have in Sweden could say much the same about Sudan, though with a few details changed...
It's been talked to death, but Dubai is the epitome of having "off" vibes. Although I guess it's debatable whether that falls into the actually evil category or not.
The Pacific Northwest does not feel evil at all in the sense you are thinking. Whatever bad things happen there are done very openly and usually commemorated. The town of Pierce, ID for instance has multiple plaques dedicated to a site where five people were lynched and a creek named in honor of a mass murdered done by poisoning. It was one of the strangest and most interesting places I ever worked.

This is my opinion on Americas as general, as yuropoor. I blame a lot of problems of US and Canada on them being first settled by what amounted to basically Old World's greatest and most undesirable of nutjobs (followed very closely by people stupid or more often desperate enough to leave life as lower classes of Europe behind to try and tame what was initially incredibly hostile New World) that British wanted to rid of in amazingly miscalculated move. At least a lot of cultural madness can easily be traced back to these roots. But I think this does not really track for the core issue of mine that also ails Latin America: specific nature of violence there. Europe knows violence very well, or at least used to know it very well until most recently. But for the most that violence was... organized? People of Old World marcher arm by arm and slain one another by millions, but usually as cog in the vehicles of states (or proto-states, tribes and such) clashing down. For the most part these conflicts, or even just more bloody personal feuds had clear cause and were, historically, even formalized to a large extent.
On the opposite end of The Pond however, cruel and brutal violence appears to just spontaneously erupt, spring from the ground maybe, oft over slightest of reasons, from Brazil all the way north to Canada. This casual occurrence of what would be shocking to next most culturally adjacent societies seems to have seeped deeply into the culture of these countries. This is *extremely* sweeping generalisation of whole two continents and lives of good billion of people or so, informed primarily by shocking news and stories, and I am aware that people in US don't just empty out a magazine first thing in the morning, but it is still striking difference. For how vast, beautiful and abundant (now that tjhey are largely tamed) these lands are, there is something deeply wrong with it.
