HMS Implacable
Post image
The Royal Navy towed a 150 year old Napoleonic ship-of-the-line out into the English Channel and blew it up because post-war Britain was too broke to preserve it. This unlikely event was recorded on BBC television. Rather surreal.

The ship is flying both the French and English flags because she was initially a French vessel taken as a war trophy.

to think that something which so much sweat was poured over was just blown up and sank... makes you want to tear up innit
